Small Groups
Fostering closer, more intimate connections
Small groups serve as vital communities within the larger congregation,
fostering a closer, more intimate connection among members. These groups gather regularly for shared purposes, including spiritual nourishment, fellowship, community, prayer, biblical exploration, mission, outreach, and connection. Small groups play a crucial role in creating a sense of community, fostering spiritual growth, and actively living out the principles of faith through shared experiences and service.
Youth Group
During the school year youth in grades 5 through 12 meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays to share supper and fellowship from 6:00–7:30 p.m. Youth group at First Pres is a space where spirituality is explored, friendships are formed, and a sense of community is cultivated. Other youth activities throughout the year include retreats, summer trips, and fun weekend activities.

Presbyterian Women Circles
Small groups, called circles, are the organizational heart of Presbyterian Women. Circles meet regularly to provide an inclusive, caring community for women.
Joining one of the circles at First Presbyterian Church of Howard County is a great way to get involved in our church family. We are caring, compassionate women sharing common interests and concerns, who support each other through the changes in our lives with fellowship, prayer, study and humor.
Deborah
Deborah Circle is for women of all ages with emphasis placed on opportunities to serve. They are taking a break this year but hope to resume at a future time.
Ruth
Ruth Circle meets once per month on Sunday evenings 6:30-8:00 p.m. We study focus on service projects, fun activities, studies, and support for each other throughout the year. All are welcome!
Lydia
Lydia Circle membership is diverse. We are educators, healthcare professionals, lawyers, technical experts and church/community volunteers. We meet the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Presbyterian Men’s Group
The Presbyterian men’s group established in 2001 is called Poe Circle. They gather on the first Monday of the month to celebrate Edgar Allan Poe, the Patron Saint of the Baltimore Ravens. Together they enjoy golf, football, and mission. Their mission activities include cooking meals for Baltimore Station and handyman construction wherever needed.
ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out)

Knitting Group
A delightful and creative community that brings together individuals with a passion for stitching (knitting, crocheting, etc) and a desire for fellowship. This group combines the joys of creativity with the warmth of fellowship, creating a space where stitchers can express their faith through their art and care for one another in a tangible and meaningful way.
