Children

Building a Christian foundation through nurture and love

Educational opportunities for children are meant to

work alongside the faith formation they receive at home from influential adults. In addition to classes and opportunities just for children we try to provide opportunities for families to learn about and experience God together.

Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children learn they are loved and cared for within our Christian community.

Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings children of all ages are always welcome in any worship service. Cards in the sanctuary have helpful ideas for how to involve children in the worship experience. Activity bags with children’s bulletins, and children’s story bibles are available as well. The Nursery is open all morning for infants and toddlers three years of age and younger. At 9:30 a.m. children two years of age and older are welcomed to learn about God and experience faith with their peers in Sunday School. Sunday School for children starts with music time in the Sanctuary and then moves to age-level classes called Ark and L.I.F.E. (Learning in Faithful Exploration).

Also on Sunday mornings, during the 10:30 am worship service, children may attend either Godly Play or Worship Bridge. Godly Play is a worship and spiritual experience for children age four through first grade. Worship Bridge is a learning experience for children in second through fifth grade. Children begin worship with their families. After the Children’s Prayer they leave the sanctuary for either Godly Play or Worship Bridge where they will continue worshiping and learning in age-appropriate ways. During worship children are welcome and encouraged to read scripture, help take the offering, hand out bulletins, sing with the Ark & LIFE Singers, etc.

Vacation Bible School

Our Vacation Bible School is an enriching and fun-filled experience for children ages 3 through 5th grade during the last full week in July. Engaging activities teach about faith, foster spiritual growth, and community bonding. Children explore biblical teachings in a memorable way with age-appropriate Bible lessons, crafts, music, science, and games. Under the guidance of dedicated volunteers and church staff, VBS provides a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, forge friendships, and create lasting memories.

Other Opportunities

Throughout the year activities such as Trunk or Treat, Wheel Day, Children’s Corner, the Christmas Pageant, and Water Day provide opportunities for fellowship and education.
