Dear Church Family,
After my first few days among you, I find myself holding both deep gratitude and a sense of just how much there is to take in. New names, new stories, new rhythms. Thank you for the warmth you have shown me and for the ways you are already making space for me on this shared journey.
I want you to see this clearly, I am here.
I am here, and I am ready to be your pastor.
I am here, and I am ready to walk with you through the seasons that are before us. I do not come with all the answers, but I do come with a deep trust that God is already at work among us. Together, we will walk to where the Spirit is leading us.
In the month of May, I invite you to meet me in worship. Each week will grow out of the previous week. My hope is that this will become a shared experience and possibility. I am excited as we celebrate communion, students graduating, baptism, and Pentecost together.
I look forward to meeting you in moments both ordinary and sacred. This is a season of grounding and celebrating, of newness and wonder, of centering and trusting, of care and curiosity.
My prayer as we begin:
eye has not seen,
ear has not heard,
what God has ready for those who love them.
Spirit of love,
come, give us the mind of Jesus,
teach us the wisdom of God.
-words by Marty Haugen, based on Isaiah 64:4,1 Corinthians 2: 9-11
I am ready. And I wonder, are you?
With gratitude and hope,
gretchen
