Adult church school compressed

We offer multiple options for adult learning during our Sunday morning Education Hour (9:30-10:25 a.m.).

NEW CLASSES IN APRIL 2017:

Book Discussion—Custer Died For Your Sins,
by Vine Deloria, Jr.

with Genevieve and Sequoyah
April 23-May 28 – six weeks—Room 258

We will read five selected essays from Vine Deloria, Jr.’s 1969 book entitled “Custer Died for Your Sins:  An Indian Manifesto.” Deloria is known for writings that advocate for an intellectual view of activist movements and disrupt established views on policy and science. The group will discuss how the author’s fifty-year-old stance on issues facing American Indians resonates with contemporary topics of ethnicity, culture, and Christian perspectives. Each class will provide an opportunity to consider selected scripture relevant to the discussion for the day.
Please let the church office know if you would like to be part of a group book order, there is no electronic version of this book.

Histories and Mysteries of Genesis:  A romp through history and archeology of the first book in the Bible.
with Bill Burris
April 23-May 28 – six weeks—Room 252

Topics will include:  A look at creationism, Sodom and Gomorrah, Noah’s Ark, the Bronze Age history of Egypt and Canaan, the Bronze Age collapse, and “who was that Joseph guy?”

Continues all year – all are welcome to join in at any time—Clark Parlor
