Through First Presbyterian Church of Howard County’s Student Ministry, Mid High grade six through grade eight and Senior High grade nine through grade twelve experience their passion for God in a changing and challenging world.  With adult mentors and teachers who are devoted to their growth in spirit, mind, heart, and soul, youth find a voice in a community of love and care.  Youth encourage, challenge, and support one another.

 

Sunday Mornings include a combined Mid and Senior High grade six through twelve study class at 9:30 a.m. and grade separated classes Mid High grades six through grade eight and Senior High grade nine through grade twelve at 11:00 a.m.

 

Sunday Morning Live! at 10:30 a.m. All youth stream into Branch Hall between services for Sunday Morning Live! - donuts, fellowship, singing, skits, and reflection.

 

Evening Fellowship Groups meet on the second and fourth Sundays.  Mid High grade six through eight meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Senior High grade nine through grade twelve meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 

 

There is a full schedule of mission trips, weekend retreats, bible study, life study, discussion, and fun throughout the year.  Friends are always welcome.

Confirmation Class is available for all grade eight and older students who have not been confirmed.  This 18 session program meets Wednesday evenings in the fall and spring, beginning in October and ending with a meeting with the Session in March.  The class meets with experienced teachers and the pastors to study the Bible and history of the church, to experience mission, service, and to learn how to experience God in a changing world.  At the conclusion of the class, students who so choose will meet with the chruch's Session.  They will make a public profession of faith on Confirmation Sunday in March, to become active members of the church.
