Capital Campaign Minimize

Our church has embarked on an exciting journey! Common Connections, our new capital campaign, connotes both our bond in Jesus Christ and the narthex area of our church building that is the main artery between our sanctuary and the education wings.

To find out more you can read the kickoff letter, commitment form, frequently asked questions, ways of giving, and kickoff presentation.

Capiltal Campaign Brick Program Minimize

As you know, we are in the middle of an exciting expansion of First Presbyterian Church, which will increase our capacity for ministry and mission in this place and beyond. Since our front entrance has been torn up, we have the opportunity to put our

mark on our church in a unique and creative way.

We’re going to repave our front brick courtyard and sanctuary walkway with engraved pavers. These pavers will be a sign and symbol of our congregation’s commitment to live as People on the Way of Christ. The courtyard and walkway will illustrate the

kinds of attitudes, character or qualities of life that we seek to live—the mind of Christ, or the way of Christ.

We invite you to purchase a 4x8 inch brick paver, or several pavers, for our walkway. Pavers can be given in honor of someone, in memory of a loved one, or simply as a statement of an aspect of Christian life that you value and want to express.  To find out more please click here.

Capital Campaign Phase II Update Minimize

The pledge period of Phase II of our Capital Campaign to improve the Narthex space officially concluded on June 13th. The results of the campaign were announced during the church picnic on June 20. As of press time, we have raised a total of $535,891 from 98 pledges, with additional pledges still coming in. Combining the dollars from this phase of the campaign with the capital improvement dollars from Phase I, we have approximately $800,000 in cash and pledge commitments available.

The Capital Campaign Committee has recommended, and Session has approved, entering into a pre-construction partnership with our chosen construction company (Plano-Coudon, LLC) and our architect (Alexander Design Studio) to create a cost-effective, detailed construction design of our proposed Commons Area. This approach will provide us with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) so that we will have a ―not to exceed‖ cost of construction. The planned target date for construction of the Commons Area is planned for Spring 2011, immediately after Easter. This date is contingent upon Session‘s approval of the project‘s final cost as defined by the GMP. Meetings between Plano-Coudon, Alexander Design Studio and the Capital Campaign Committee will take place over the next few months, so stay tuned for further details.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed their time, talents and financial resources to the project. If you have not yet made a contribution pledge, it is never too late. Additional contributions continue to be welcome as we finalize the details.
