We thank God for the faithful and faith-filled generous givers throughout 2009 who, rejoicing in God’s goodness in the past and trusting in his continued faithfulness in the future, made it possible for the Church to close its books in the black for this year with the surplus going to debt reduction, property contingency fund replenishment and mission. Thanks to you and through staff sacrifice and cutbacks, we have met our commitments to people and programs; despite reductions in spending almost across the board, no one was turned away hungry, no one was denied shelter, no youth was untaught, and every worship service proclaimed the goodness of God. Even better, your generous projected giving for 2010 (214 giving units estimated contributions of $602,198) will make it possible to expand staff hours, to welcome more neighbors and strangers, to teach more children and adults, and to begin to resume our historic commitment to mission giving. So, we thank God for you check-writers, debit-authorizers, and envelope users! By God’s grace we have come through many toils and snares, and by God’s grace and your continuing gifts of time, talent, and treasures, we will move forward into an exciting 2010 in God’s Kingdom.
